Syndicate Rules/Procedures
- Call World Fuel for fuel and oil (pay for a quart of oil and Rahul will pay me back)
- Never plan more than 4.5 hours flight time without refuelling
- Dress the prop horizontally (in case wind tips plane over)
- Top up half a quart of oil or so if you think the level will drop below 5 quarts during your flight, but not more than 6 quarts (otherwise it just spits it out)
- Log VDO, air switch, and tacho time
- L FUEL LOW may momentaily illuminate in flight – ignore
- Don’t refuel after landing (ok to leave tanks less than full)
- Locks & codes: see 1Password entry for FWC
Circuit Procedures
- Rotate at 60kt
- Climb at 80kt
- Turn crosswind at 500ft
- Turn downwind at 45° angle
- Level off at 1000ft, set 2100RPM for 90-100kt
- Downwind checks
- Abeam the numbers, 1700RPM for 80kt
- Turn base 45° angle, take one stage of flaps and start descent
- Second stage of flaps on base
- Turn final, 1500RPM, 70kt, and take third stage of flaps
- 1500RPM should maintain 70kt all the way to the numbers
- Crossing the threshold, idle throttle and hold the nose off (reduced ground effect compared to low wing, so will sink without power)
